Speech synthesis
As part of the development of the Japanese speech synthesis software SpeeCAN, we develop some techniques for Japanese language processing, such as Japanese morphological analysis. We also carry out audio signal processing R&D, such as speech speed conversion and audio compression, as well. In addition, we have prepared Japanese proper nouns’ accent dictionary containing more than 250,000 words.
Application Use Case: read-aloud (with voice) the facility name in car navigation, etc.
Voice recognition
We receive a contract research for constructing database for voice recognition. The activity spans from the creation of transcriptions for voice recognition, to phoneme labeling by observing the spectrogram.
We develop AcousticCore and ToBI Editor which is initially an internal tools, intended to assist our work in this contract.

Applications development
We also develop Android and iOS applications such as PictureAid and VoiceAid. Taking advantage of know-how and our many years experience involved in speech technology, we provide our customer with suggestions and the development of voice applications which have a user-friendly user interface. Of course, we also develop application programs that run on Windows or Mac.

Phone – FAX control software
In our SpeeCAN RAIDEN service, we utilize IP phones and IP-PBX (Asterisk) to make phone calls or FAX transmission. By actively incorporating these kind of open technologies, we reduce initial cost and operation cost, which becomes a very big benefit for our customers.
In addition, we conduct R&D in cloud computing, virtualization, and parallelization technology, which is one of the key factor in operating our SpeeCAN RAIDEN cloud service.
Application Use Case: our custom-made IP phone network, etc.
Development and operation of web applications
SpeeCAN RAIDEN is developed in-house, managed and operated by ourselves. By doing this, we are able to respond to customers’ demand, perform bug-fix, maintenance, and customization in a timely manner. In SpeeCAN RAIDEN, we use not only HTML5 technology, but also SQL, PHP, and so on.
